At the beginning of the year Chloe Stewart, Carla Stewart and Niamh Tuite decided to set up and run their own company for the year ahead.
They brianstormed ideas and decided to open a company selling personalised mugs. They named their mini company Muggz. They bought plain white mugs and ceramic markers and they personalised each mug to each individual order. The mugs were then filled with sweet treats and wrapped up tied with a bow. Happy with their product, the girls decided to enter into the student enterprise awards. They had to comprise a detailed business report which was submitted early February.
After the February mid-term break we received exciting news that the girl’s company made it into the Louth County finals of the student enterprise competition. On the 5th of March ‘Muggz’ went to the Carrickdale Hotel for the county finals. Once registered they set up their stand. The judges came around and questioned all the companies There were great activities on throughout the day for those who had been judged already. After lunch everyone gathered in the main hall to hear the results. The girls were delighted to hear that ‘Muggz’ won the prestigious award for Best Entrepreneurial Spirit out of all the companies in the Senior Category in Louth. We are very proud of their achievements!
